Babysitter Bootcamp

Babysitter Bootcamp is a terrific opportunity for youth in our area to prepare to be the best babysitters possible. This training program for young people aged 11 – 15 years is designed to help them develop leadership and decision-making skills, as well as First Aid, CPR and Safety skills. Our Babysitter Bootcamp will be offered over two full days, 8:00am to 5:00pm, and consist of our popular Babysitter’s Training class along with Standard First Aid and CPR – Child and Infant training. Bootcamp will also include a Water Safety Today presentation, to help keep our babysitters and the children they care for safe around water. Participants will also receive their own personal first aid kit, messenger bag and exclusive Babysitter Bootcamp t-shirt. There's even an infant onesie available!
Course fee: $150
Length:  8:00am to 5:00 both days

Babysitter’s Training has been reviewed and/or supported by the Girl Scouts of the U.S.A., JCC Association and 4-H.
You can get the knowledge, skills and confidence to care for infants and school-age children. This course has recently been updated, expanded and redesigned for today’s babysitters – and includes cool new products to make the course more engaging than ever. This course will teach you how to:
• Care for children and infants.
• Be a good leader and role model.
• Make good decisions and solve problems.
• Keep the children you babysit and yourself safe.
• Handle emergencies such as injuries, illnesses and household accidents.
• Write resumes and interview for jobs.
• And much more!
• Recommended for ages 11-15.
Length: 6.5 hours. Continuing Education Units available.

Family Caregiving

The American Red Cross Family Caregiving program was a 2004 winner of a prestigious FREDDIE Award for International Health and Medical Media.
If you’re helping to care for a parent, spouse or friend at home, your life is a balancing act. Family Caregiving is a quick reference guide with a companion DVD for individuals helping to care for an elderly or chronically ill loved one. Learn basic caregiving skills, as well as how to reduce stress and balance the demands of work and home.
