OTHER WAYS OF GIVING

Monetary donations can be made to the American Red Cross of Central Texas by any of the following methods:

• Business or Personal Check (made payable to: American Red Cross of Central Texas)

• Coins – large donations of coins are accepted, but they are not preferred.  If possible, please take the coins to a financial institution or a Coinstar machine (found in most local grocery stores) and forward a single donation of check or money order to the Red Cross.

OTHER TYPES OF DONATIONS:

The Red Cross is unable to accept small, individual donations or collections of items such as clothing, food or cleaning supplies. The cost to sort, package and distribute these types of donations to disaster victims is almost always greater than the cost of purchasing the items locally, and it is logistically impossible to distribute a wide variety of individual items in a meaningful way. While the Red Cross cannot accept the donation of an individual item, you can support the Red Cross through the sale of personal items, such as in a garage sale or yard sale or support your community by donating these items to an organization that is equipped to put them to the best possible local use.

The American Red Cross of Central Texas is unable to accept:

• Used clothing, hygiene items, furniture, toys, and household items
• Items with a short shelf life or expiration date
• Medications
• Items which are defective or not in working order Money Order or Cashier’s Check
• Food or canned goods
