Attention Swimming Enthusiasts! It's time to get wet for a good cause!
Looking for a team project that also helps your community?
The 2009 Swim-A-Cross Program is offering your swim team
an opportunity to raise funds for your group while supporting
the work of the American Red Cross here in Central Texas.
For the past several years, many area youth have raised money
for their swim team, helped the Red Cross provide disaster relief
services to people in our rapidly growing community and had lots
of fun! This year, we're inviting all ages to get involved.

Here’s how Swim-A-Cross works:
- Team members or swim participants solicit pledges for swimming pool lengths (e.g. $1 per length completed, etc.) We will provide pledge forms to aid your swimmers in soliciting pledges. Check out this flyer to get your group excited.
- Schedule your Swim-A-Cross event anytime during your swim season. (June 1st – July 30th)
- Collect the money pledged and turn in to the American Red Cross of Central Texas. We will refund 50% of the money to your swim club!
- Individual participants who raise $30 or more will receive a Swim-A-Cross T-shirt
- Longfellow the Water Safety Whale costume is available for rental for your event at no charge with a $75 refundable deposit. Be sure to reserve him when you schedule your event.
Once your team signs up to participate, we will provide you with a registration packet and participation materials for each swimmer, which will include pledge forms and instructions on how to run your event.
